Lucy is a five-year-old Labrador Retriever and is best described as a cuddle monster. She is very energetic and loves chasing her tennis ball, but she is just as content to lay in your lap (all 70 pounds of her) for a belly rub. She loves people and prefers to be cuddled up with a human 24/7.
Lucy and her sister Ethel were dumped near Yale, Okla., and taken in by a local family. Lucy was a handful and was always getting into trouble with Ethel, so the family decided to try to find homes for them. OSU-CHS Registrar Amanda Sumner's family met Lucy at a Lab Rescue event in 2010 and fell instantly in love with her.
As with many Labrador Retrievers, Lucy's favorite treat is pretty much any food. She has several favorite toys and will even pick out her own toys from displays at the store! One memorable favorite toy is a Mr. Bill that cries “Ohhhh noooo!" Lucy likes walks, swimming, drinking water (especially from sprinklers), cuddles and chasing her tennis ball.
Lucy is looking forward to being part of Pete's Pet Posse Tulsa because it will be her job to be petted. Plus, it will get her out of the house during the day. She has received her Canine Good Citizen certification.
